27 Goals In 32 Games Striker Practically CONFIRMS He Will Play For Arsenal Next Season

Alexandre Lacazette has been a man in demand this summer. The 24-year-old Lyon striker was the top scorer in the Ligue 1 last season, banging in 27 goals in 32 appearances for the club , thereby guiding Lyon to the holy grail of Champions League qualification.

Ever since the onset of the transfer summer, the prolific marksman has been consistently linked with several top clubs in Europe , most notably from the Premier League , where the leading lights like Arsenal , Liverpool and Manchester United have been jostling for his signature. Back home, Paris Saint-Germain have been strongly linked with a swoop for the player.

Lacazette, for his part, has neither made any attempt to dismiss speculations linking him with an exit and nor has he committed his future to Lyon. The striker is keeping his cards close to his chest as he mulls over the best of the available prospects.

According to the Telegraph , he had been earlier quoted as :

“I have not made my decision. I will go on holiday, leave my agent to discuss things, for him to look after all that . I am not worried. As soon as I have decided, I want it all to happen quickly. Everything depends on the destination. It would have to be for a Champions League club.”

Such comments only highlight his desire for a change of scenery. The words of his manager Fournier , as per the Telegraph , have only succeeded in heightening the speculations of an exit from Lyon , with the former quoted as :

“He is still under contract and the club is the decision maker. At no time have I felt a request to leave from him . Things can still change. It is early July. The sooner it is resolved, the better it will be for everyone.”

All signs seemingly point towards a departure from the Ligue 1 side this summer. Recent reports in the Metro suggest that the striker is now the subject of a proposed £28 million bid from the Gunners , and now it seems that the striker may himself have dropped the biggest hint regarding his future destination.

Lacazette reportedly clicked the favourite button on a tweet by an Arsenal fan claiming  a deal has been struck between the Gunners and Lyon last weekend for the services of the highly rated striker . This has sparked the rumor mill into overdrive , with the Metro claiming that it is only favourite tweet on Lacazette’s official twitter handle.

Several outlets are now claiming that the Gunners are indeed very close to sealing a deal worth £28.6 million for the player. Wenger has been on the lookout for a world class striker this summer, and may have finally found one in his compatriot.

An announcement is expected in the coming days, and Gunners fans will be hoping that Wenger can finally sign the player , who they deem destined to be a huge success at the Emirates.
