With 10 days remaining until transfer window deadline, Premier League clubs such as Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal are set to intensify their search for the right players to strengthen their squads.
That said, Arsenal’s target, Granit Xhaka will now cost them more considering the present interests of multiple clubs. It is reported by Daily Star, Arsenal is willing to pay as much as £37 million Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder.
The 23-year-old has a release clause of €30million, which adds up to a little above £23 million.
Borussia Monchengladbach’s superstar admitted he wants to wear the No. 34 jersey at the Emirates Stadium should he complete a January transfer to the Gunners. Switzerland international has been linked with a move to Arsenal, with Monchengladbach’s sporting director Max Eberl saying this week the 23-year-old could depart the German side.
Xhaka wears the number 34 shirt at Monchengladbach and the midfielder has admitted he wants to continue wearing his favoured jersey number at his next team and reveals he has already spoken to Coquelin about taking the Arsenal midfielder’s shirt.
“That was my first professional number at Basel. It’s even tattooed on my back. I would also like to wear it in the future.”
When asked what would happen if he joined Arsenal, he said: “It was also here in Gladbach, with Amin Younes. And at Arsenal Coquelin has it. I’ve spoken with him, he would like to take another number!”
