2nd January Signing? Wenger Wants to Bring 6 ft 2 in Box to Box Midfielder, Player Eager to Join Gunners in January

Victor Wanyama is supposedly the next target for Arsene Wenger this January. According to Daily Mirror, Wenger wants to further strengthen midfield and Wanyama is the potential midfielder that fits the manager’s needs.

Wanyama was expected to depart from Southampton in summer of 2014, but stayed at the club. However, recently, Wanyama has struggled to compete for his place in the team and he may look for a way out of the club.

Since Wanyama is another defensive midfielder, Arsene Wenger might not pursue this option adamantly. However, the manager might have a strategy in mind and may very well be thinking of signing the player.

In other news, Everton has expressed interest in signing Arsenal’s second-choice goalkeeper, David Ospina. The Columbia international hasn’t played for Arsenal since September, and is getting impatient due to lack of match time. Bestikas is also keen on signing the goalkeeper.

Arsene Wenger is reluctant to let Ospina leave, but the Columbian won’t stay longer than this summer.  Unless he attains more game-time.
