3-5-2 – Manchester United Likely Line Up To Play Against Watford

Manchester United don’t feature in a competitive game for now due to the international break, but that certainly won’t stop manager Louis Van Gaal from working out a masterclass tactic that is good enough to get the maximum three points when his team take on Watford in about 10 days from now.

Away games tend to be difficult, and that won’t be any different against Watford. LVG is expected to deploy a defensive minded team as that’s how he likes to set up, with a view to counter attack off course. And with that in mind we should see Chris Smalling and Matteo Darmian start at the heart of the defence.

In front of them is a solid midfield duo of Bastian Schweinsteiger and Michael Carrick who both performed admirably in the victories over CSKA Moscow and West Brom, the duo will provide defensive cover and added support to the forwards.

Perhaps the most exciting part of the pitch is without doubt the front four. Its full of pace, talent and creativity, with the likes of Juan Mata, Anthony Martial, Jesse Lingard and Wayne Rooney likely to feature in the game.

LVG could let Memphis Depay play in the starting 11 but it’s quite unlikely as the young Dutch star has fallen out with the United manager.

With United just two points behind leaders Arsenal and Manchester City, the players and the coaching staff will know they need to beat Watford in order to maintain their chances of winning the title at the end of the season.

Beating clubs like Watford who are seen as the underdogs is a must for any club that aspires to win the premier league title at the end of the season.
