4-2-3-1: Manchester United early XI vs CSKA Moscow – Lingard starts

The Champions League returns this week and Manchester United will look to better their weekend goal draught as CSKA visits Old Trafford for the return leg of their match day three.

In the first leg of the match, United were near spectacular but they drew the match 0-0. Playing in front of their fans this Tuesday, United will aim at improving upon their previous score line and performance.

The Premier League last weekend for Manchester United wasn’t impressive as they were very poor against Crystal Palace. Louis Van Gaal might tweak his team a bit in other to get the maximum point.

We take a look at how United will line up against CSKA Moscow.

Goalkeeper

The assured presence of De Gea in goal cannot be compromised. He will be back with his amiable and reliable shot-stopping prowess.

Defence

The same back that played against Palace are most likely to be fielded by the Dutch tactician. Rojo and Darmian as the full backs while Smalling and Blind may continue at the heart of United’s defence.

Midfield

Carrick may come back in the place of Schweinsteiger, while we expect Schneiderlin to retain his place as the pivot of the midfield. Herrera has been doing well and we expect him to be the creative hub of the team.

Attack

Rooney will not be featured in the game and we expect Martial to be giving the nod as the frontman. While on the wing, Ashley Young and Lingard could play in the offensive areas.
