4-3-3 – Manchester United Likely Line Up For Everton Clash

United will hope to bounce back from the 3-0 loss they suffered a the hands of Arsenal prior to the international break as they face Everton come weekend. The Red Devils had hoped to retain the top position on the table with a win at the Emirates, but they are currently in 3rd place, just 2 points behind table leaders, Manchester City. The Merseyside Toons are currently doing well as a result of a great form, they came from 2 goals down to draw Leicester City in their last match, and will no doubt hope to at least get a draw when United visit Goodison Park by weekend.

Save for Rooney and Schweinsteiger who couldn’t participate in the Euros qualifiers due to not-too-serious injuries, Louis van Gaal has a lot of options to draw from for the high-profile match, and some of the first squad members will be returning from injury. This is how United will likely lineup for the away game.

IN GOAL

David Degea remains the first choice, and the Spain international was in goal for his country in the last qualifiers. The 24 year-old will be relied upon to make saves from the quality Everton attackers.

DEFENSE

Marcos Rojo should be fit and ready to play at leftback, ahead of the makeshift Young who will also be available in case the Argentine doesn’t make it. Blind and Smalling will pair in the heart of the defense, and they will be ready to do better after failing to contain the Gunners forwards in the last game. Valencia put up a great display for Ecuador during the game against Argentina, and could be given the starting berth ahead of Darmian at right back.

MIDFIELD

Carrick was excused by Roy Hodgson during the qualifiers, but the defensive midfielder should be fit for weekend’s match, and will likely be pairing France’s Schneiderlin in the midfield. Ander Herrera is back from injury, and could also start in front of the defensive midfield duo, as he is an added attacking option.

ATTACK

Mata and Depay will no doubt man the wings, and they can be a threat to the Everton defence with Martial up front. The 19 year-old was the star during the qualifiers for France, and will no doubt be the man to watch out for come weekend.

LVG is likely to either stick with a 4-3-3 formation or opt for his 4-2-3-1, whichever one he eventually chooses, all that’s needed from the game is 3 points.
