Manchester United

4 players Ed Woodward should sign to turn Man Utd into Champions again

Manchester United face a huge transfer window this summer, like many other Premier League contenders. Most of Ed Woodward’s transfer signings have been huge disappointments despite their prolific statuses prior to joining the Red Devils.

The likes of Angel Di Maria, Radamel Falcao and Bastian Schweinsteiger have all left a bitter taste as expectations were high yet the outcome not of the same calibre. However, United fans worry not, we have drafted a realistic transfer plan of players United should try and sign.

Mario Gotze

Mario Gotze has struggled to establish himself into Bayern’s starting 11 since his move from Borussia Dortmund. Take nothing away from the World Cup hero as he is a talented player without a doubt and very few can fiddle with the stars already at Bayern. Fierce rivals Liverpool are believed to be ahead of the pack as Jurgen Klopp looks reunite with his star man. Surely if Liverpool can get him, United can try tempting him with potential Champions league and possibly better pay.

Aleksandar Dragovic

Manchester need to acquire serious defensive reinforcements. The Red Devils must prioritise a center back as they have lacked significantly in that department. In order to play attacking formations such as the diamond or a 4-3-3 they need a defence in which the attacking players can do what they do best without hesitation. Dynamo Kiev’s Dragovic is a player worth the gamble; he could either make it or break. A fee of 11 million pounds is a affordable and should his move work out, it would appear a bargain.

Ross Barkley
Ross Barkley’s ability to brush of defenders and power through midfield at ease  reminds one of a younger Wayne Rooney. He has to be signed before the Euros as a good performance in the Euros will ensure a battle for his signature and his price will increase. Barkley is young and one of England’s brightest prospects.  He has the ability to shoot successfully from range. His passing reals defences open hence he is amongst the leagues top assists.

David De Gea

Keeping David De Gea is as important as acquiring any new players.  The Spaniard has undoubtedly been Manchester United’s best player for the past three seasons and there is no question that he is one of the best in the world. The Red Devils should ensure that the Spaniard doesn’t leave and is settled at United for the long term.
