Louis Van Gaal Confirms "New" Left Forward Signing Is Done

5 players LVG needs to sign this winter to save the season

After a spree of signings over the summer, Manchester United kicked off the new season bubbling with hope that this will be finally their year. However, as the season progressed, LVG turned out to be no different than David Moyes as Manchester United continued their stuttering run of performances. Lately, things have gone so wrong for Van Gaal that even newly-promoted Bournemouth gave United a 2-1 thrashing on Saturday night.

Rumors have been rife recently that Manchester United club officials are already lining up replacement for the Dutch boss. If Van Gaal wants to keep his job safe at Old Trafford and turn the season around for Manchester United, here are five players he should target in the winter window.

Youri Tielemans
The 18-year-old Belgian midfielder is set to be the hottest properties in the coming winter transfer window. Tielemans made hisĀ Champions LeagueĀ debut at 16 and has flowered to become a real hero in the midfield. Ā At the age of just 18, he has been a crucial part of the success of RSC Anderlecht, andĀ he has the skill set to be an integral player for Old Trafford crew too.

Raphael Varane
Another top class player with youth on his side, the 22-year-old Real Madrid defender is touted to become the next best centre-back in the world. In a defense lacking experience and composure, Varane would add instant stability in Manchester United back line that they desperately need. There is one catch though: the Spanish giants don’t seem too eager to let him leave.

Sadio Mane
The Senegalese star is considered indispensable by Ronald Koeman since his transfer to the south coast 15 months ago. In 45 games for the Saints,Ā ManeĀ has notched an impressive tally of 16 goals. With his explosive pace and impressive physicality, he could inject real strength and intensity in United’s attacking line if LVG decides to trigger the clause for Mane.

Riyad Mahrez
Signed from Le Havre in 2014 by Nigel Pearson, Leicester’s winger is in full flower of his form this season. His dazzling dribbles and impressive goal-scoring ability has piqued the interest of even the likes of Arsenal, City, and Barcelona.

He has already racked up 10 goals and 6 assists this season. Such diligence would certainly be welcomed by Van Gaal.

Isco
The Spanish starlet Isco Alracon is seen by many as the next Iniesta. HisĀ impeccable passing, excellent vision and strong technical skills has made him a prominent figure in Santiago Bernabeue, and he has all the attributes to shine in Old Trafford too.

Reports have emerged from Spanish capital that Isco appears intent to bid farewell to Los Blancos in search for regular first-team football, and the Manchester club are reportedly interested to lure him to England.
