Arsenal are preparing a shock move for Manchester city front man Edin Dzeko. The gunners are currently in the market for a new striker and have been knocked back in their inquiries for Olympique Lyon’s Alexandre Lacazette and Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema. This has seen Coach Arsene Wenger switch his attentions to reportedly Unhappy City forward Dzeko.
The Bosnian international, 29 has scored 50 goals in 130 appearances for city and is one of the last of a dying breed of cold blooded finishers in the game. He reportedly informed by the City hierarchy that he will be allowed to leave the club if the right offer is received for him.
The gunners though face competition from Serie A giants As Roma and Bundesliga side Wolfsburg for Dzeko’s signature. Roma wants Dzeko to spearhead their forward line this coming season and replace want away forward Mat Destro while his former club Wolfsburg want Dzeko as a makeweight in City’s bid to sign their star playmaker Kevin De Bruyne.
But sources close to the Bosnian indicate he will prefer to stay in England which leaves the gunners as favorites for his signature. Dzeko will surely improve an Arsenal Frontline crying out for superior firepower and someone with goal scoring pedigree. The Bosnian forward has scored lots of goals wherever he has played. However it remains to be seen if rivals City and Arsenal can agree a fee for him.
