£80,000-A-Week Real Madrid Target Agrees To Sign For Chelsea, Will Be Announced Before January

Ramires’ current deal at the Stamford bridge comes to an end at the end of next season, and after been linked with a move away from the London club during summer, he is now on the verge of committing his future to the title holders as he is set to sign a new deal soon. The new deal will reportedly cost £3.7 million Pounds per year, but its duration has not been confirmed. Chelsea are known to sign above-30 years old players for not more than a year, an age the Brazil international would have reached when his current 5-year deal finally expires.

The 28 year-old arrived London from Portuguese giants, Benfica in 2010 for £18 million Pounds, and was an integral part of the team until in recent seasons when he has seen playing time reduced as he is now a substitute player. He continues to face competition from Mikel and Matic for a role in the Blues’ defensive midfield. He was a useful substitute of recent when he came from the bench to help secure a point for the Blues against Newcastle in last weekend’s 2-2 draw. And it will be hoped he continues to rise to the occasion whenever the need arises.

Chelsea continue their woeful run into the season, and their aspirations of defending the title dwindle on as they lost their 4th League game out of 8 to Southampton at home. The Blues were also at the receiving end during the week when they lost their 2nd Champions League match to Porto away from home. They will be hoping to use the international break to recover as they return to face fellow relegation-endangered side, Aston Villa in 2 weeks’ time.
