£80,000-A-Week UCL Winner Nears Chelsea Transfer, Mourinho Likes Him

Chelsea midfielder Ramires is poised to make a summer move to Serie A champions Juventus, as per reports in Italy.

Express cites Italian media Corriere dello Sport who claim the Brazilian will arrive Turin imminently to seal the switch. It is understood Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri wants to sign Ramires because of the serious injury suffered by Sami Khedira – a summer arrival from Real Madrid earlier.

Khedira joined the Serie A club on a free transfer after his contract the the Bernabeu expired at the end of last season.

The Germany international player is expected to play a key role for the team – after the exit of Andrea Pirlo this summer – as Juventus bid to consolidate on their league success this season but the thigh muscle injury has now proved to be a setback. As per Guardian, Khedira will be returning from injury in October.

The Bianconeri have also parted ways with influential box-to-box midfielder Arturo Vidal and it is required that they fill the void left open by the said midfielders who have departed.

With Ramires seeming surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge, Juventus could have no problem signing him. Blues boss Jose Mourinho has admitted concerns over the club’s inability to bring in a top talent this summer, as the Blues have been less active, but the 28-year old former Benfica midfielder could still be allowed to leave.

The all-action midfielder made 23 appearances for the Blues last season as they won the title which has eluded them since 2010. Ramires, though, is one of the most underrated and unappreciated player in the Chelsea team but Mourinho rates him highly.

Ramires joined Chelsea for a reported fee of £19.8m in 2010, and has made over 225 appearances for the Blues. During his spell at Stamford Bridge, he has won the Champions League, Premier League and FA Cup titles among others.

The Turin side would offer Ramires a role more prominent than the one he enjoys at Chelsea, and the Brazilian will be keen on a move.

Juventus are also keen on another Chelsea Brazilian star Oscar, but it is thought Mourinho would not allow his Number 10 leave the club.
