91% Pass Accuracy, Chelsea To Complete Transfer Of £80,000-A-Week DM

The Stamford Bridge landlords seems unrelenting in the transfer market, this time around, it is John Mikel Obi who is getting the axe to join cuadrado. The report credited to the Daily Mail is claiming that The Blues are set to offload Mikel before the end of this transfer window.

The 28-year-old Nigerian joined Chelsea and 2006 from Lynn Oslo amidst a transfer tussle between Manchester United and Chelsea. He has had a relatively impressive career  for The Blues with over 200 appearances but its now looking like he will leave the club this summer.

Mikel played regularly under various coaches in Chelsea until the arrival of 27-year-old Matic from Benfica that saw him relegated to the bench and second fiddle football. Last season, Mikel managed 18 appearances in all competitions for the four time EPL champions and have remained on the bench this season even behind Zouma that is been called up to play as a defensive midfielder against his natural centre back position.

However, it is understood that Besiktas are rooting for the signature of Mikel as the aforementioned club are looking to bolster their squad with midfielders. Chelsea will allow him leave in furtherance of his career, as per the daily mail.

Mikel had 91% pass accuracy for Chelsea last season but won 16 out of 47 attempted tackles. He also averaged two defensive actions per game for the champions which clearly say why he has been left out of most of their games.
