Chelsea will not extend Radamel Falcao’s contract and reports in Stamford Bridge suggest Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is in dare need of a high world class striker to reinforce his attacking options. And with Diego Costa Chelsea’s star last season in front of goal, been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge, Chelsea and Mourinho are looking at Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette as a possible replacement, says the Daily Mirror.

The French striker has scored five league goals in 11 appearances this season, keeping up with his past season’s spoils after scoring 30 goals in 40 appearances in all competitions. Last season, Lacazette was valued at £50 million pounds by Lyon president, but it is believed now that the Ligue 1 giants will accept  a fee in the region of £21 million pounds. It is now upon Chelsea now to seize the opportunity and acquire the striker.

Lacazette has scored 50 goals in 150 appearances across all competitions for the French giants, scoring 30 in 40 appearances in 2014/2015 season and winning Ligue 1 player of the year and Ligue 1 top scorer respectively, and he has played for France at all levels for national team scoring 20 goals in 68 games, and winning the under 19 championship in 2010.

His goal scoring statistics speak for him. He will provide more depth to the Premier League champions. He will easily adjust to life the English Premier League because of his strength.
