Abramovich To Sanction Mega Deal To Sign La Liga Winner & UCL Finalist For Chelsea

Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone has been tipped as Jose Mourinho’s replacement should the Portuguese boss decide to leave Stamford Bridge, as per the Mirror.

The Buenos-Aires-born tactician has always proven a thorn in the flesh of Mourinho whenever his Atletico Madrid side face the Portuguese’ side, and Simeone has now been earmarked by the Blues’ hierarchy as a potential replacement for Mourinho.

Simeone robbed the self-proclaimed Special One of victory in his last game in charge of Real Madrid at the Bernabeu. And 11 months later, it was Simeone’s Atletico again…thumping Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea side 3-1 in the Champions League semi-final. That defeat meant Mourinho second ever home defeat in the European competition.

Now speculations are rife that should Mourinho get the sack by Chelsea when results continue to be poor, Roman Abramovich is convinced that Simeone should be the one to take over the helm at Stamford Bridge, the Mirror confirm.

If the move happens, Simeone could have the chance to reunite with his former charges at Atletico Madrid in Diego Costa, Radamel Falcao and Thibaut Courtois, while Koke and Antoine Griezmann are also likely to follow the Argentine tactician to the Premier League.
