Advantage Manchester United – Mats Hummels Frustrated At Dortmund, Ready To Leave Club

Manchester United have been given a boost in their pursuit of Borussia Dortmund’s Mats Hummels as recent reports from Germany say the ace defender could be on his way out of the Signal Iduna Park due to latest developments and happenings. The Red Devils were hoping to get him during the summer transfer window but he rather chose to continue at the Bundesliga side, putting pen to paper to extend his contract until 2017.

Louis Van Gaal was keen to get a central defender for the new season, and will make bids come winter following injuries to his backline as he is currently left with only 1 recognized central half in Chris Smalling. Hummels did admit to have been honored by United’s interest in him, but decided to pledge his future to Dortmund.

However, he has become unsettled of recent, as he has come under heavy criticisms for his woeful performances of late. The new coach, Thomas Tuchel, and the Germany international are said not to be getting along, with the club ready to accept offers for him as things don’t look certain to change. Hummels has constantly been linked with a move to other elite European sides, and is certainly edging closer to its realization.

The World Cup-winning defender is highly placed amongst central halves across Europe and seen as one of the most experienced ones. His deal could see him earn a move away come next summer, and Manchester United will be far more than willing to get him once he is declared available. The club has been placed on alert concerning his situation, but they will surely face fierce rivalry for his services.
