After Scoring 15 Goals Last Season, Chelsea Target Agrees DEAL, To Earn £65,000-A-Week

Newcastle United have completed their fifth signing of the season in the form of Chelsea target Florian Thauvin. The 22-year-old joined the Toon Army on a five-year deal with the transfer fee reportedly around 12 million pounds and he is expected to don the number 20 jersey at Newcastle. As part of the deal Newcastle’s Remy Cabella has joined Marseille on a season-long loan deal, with the French club having the option to make the move permanent.

The 22 year old has made 81 appearances for Marseille over the past two seasons and has scored 15 goals. In the wake of his move to Newcastle the 22 year old has expressed delight over joining Newcastle and said  “It is a big honour to know that Newcastle have been after me for such a long time and that they wanted me that much. “They have put their trust in me and I am looking forward to playing for the team.”

Prior to his move to Newcastle, Thauvin was also linked to a move to Chelsea as Jose Mourinho was keen to boost his attacking options. However with Chelsea poised to sign 28 year old Pedro Rodriguez from Barcelona, Chelsea no longer need the services of Florian Thauvin as they have seen a better option in the form of Pedro.

Pedro is already a proven player all over the world and is bound to excel at Stamford Bridge with his great technical ability whereas Florian Thauvin is still yet to prove himself on the major stage and his terrible attitude might prove to be a major hindrance to the 22 year old’s progress.
