After Scoring 26 Goals Last Season, £40m Rated Striker Set For Arsenal Move

Arsenal has had a shaky form this season, but a 5-2 win over Leicester City saw them move up the log. However, their striking department continues to need reinforcement as the pair of Walcott and Giroud haven’t been very spectacular in front of goal this season. 3 of weekend’s goal came from Alexis Sanchez who isn’t a main striker.

Arsenal refused to sign a striker during the summer transfer window, with their bids for Benzema and Cavani both falling through. With the January transfer window approaching, the Gunners could be in pole position to sign Borussia Dortmund forward, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The 26 year-old was once a target player for the Emirates stadium outfits during the summer. But the German outfits rejected a £28.7million bid from Arsenal, and Aubameyang has been reportedly offered a deal with Dortmund that will last till 2020. But the Gabon international is known to be keen for a move to England, with Arsenal been a topmost priority. He was seen as a backup to Benzema during the transfer, and with the deal having fell through, the Gunners could launch another bid come January.

Aubameyang netted 26 goals in all competitions last season, more than any of Arsenal’s forward, and he no doubt fits the profile of Arsenal. Wenger has been keen about getting a striker who can guarantee him 20+ goals per season, and the woes of the London club continue to pile after failing to secure a major signing during summer. With the French-born striker keen on a move to the EPL, a transfer could work out by January if Arsenal will be ready to meet his buyout clause.
