After Scoring 27 Goals Last Season, Arsenal Striker Target Agrees To Sign, He Was At Emirates
Alexandre Lacazette Snubs Arsenal and Liverpool interest to sign new four-year Lyon contract. The Frenchman who was at the Emirates cup with Lyon just two weeks ago.
The top scorer in the French Ligue 1 for last season has put pen to paper and committed his future to his club, Olympique Lyonnaise. He is looking to replicate his form for club and country as France prepares for Euro 2016 qualifiers.
Following interests from several European clubs, the 24-year-old has turned down advances from Premier League clubs to end the speculations long linking him to them. He signed a new long-term contract for Lyon.
Arsenal and Liverpool have been looking for prolific strikers all summer, and Lacazette’s performance for Lyon last season was the major attraction for the aforementioned clubs. Both clubs are looking to strengthen their attacking line.
As reported by the Mirror, the player is looking to be focused and has confirmed his desire to remain in France and the help the French squad secure a place in the European championship.
He said. “People can stop talking about me,”
“Now I hope we will talk about me only because I am scoring goals and winning games with Lyon.
He further said “The team is growing, there is the Champions League, there is (a new Stadium) and therefore there is no reason to leave.”
This has dealt a blow to Arsenal and Liverpool. However, they will have to turn the attention to another top-striker.
Lyon made the announcement during the unveiling of their new signing Rafael from Manchester United.
