Klopp To Raid His Former Club, Player Confirms Club’s Interest

Liverpool manager, Jürgen Klopp, is looking to raid his former club Borussia Dortmund for their star talents if media reports are to be believed. The German manager is planning to place a bid for Dortmund’s midfielder Ilkay Gundogan, according to Fichajes. The German international has only 18 months left, and Dortmund might be willing to sell him if they fail to reach an agreement on a new deal with the player. The 25-year-old has already been linked the Premier League clubs Manchester United and Arsenal.

Recently when asked about his future, he said: “I know there are many people who are waiting for a decision about my future. But first I want to sit down with club officials; I do not know when. Everybody expected that we will return to the Champions League but that does not mean that if we do not qualify I will go. Liverpool are a great team and have a great coach in Jurgen Klopp.”

Liverpool will face Newcastle today, we predict a 3-1 win.

The Reds are also keeping a tab on Lorient full-back Raphael Guerreiro, according to Mercato 365. Klopp wants to bring the player to Anfield to replace Alberto Moreno, who has been linked with a move to Real Madrid by Metro. The 21-year-old Portuguese defender is a versatile player and can play as a left-back, a left wing-back and as a left winger. Metro reports that Klopp’s former club Borussia Dortmund are also interested in the services of the player.

Daily Express reports that the Merseyside club are interested in signing Marseille club central defender Nicolas N’Koulou. The 25-year-old has only six months left on his contract, and the Reds are hoping that they will be able to acquire him for cheap in January transfer window. The Cameron international has spent his entire football career in Ligue 1 and has played for Monaco before his move to Marseille.
