Alexis Sanchez To Make Shock Star Against Crystal Palace?
According to Arsenal’s official website, superstar attacker, Alexis Sanchez would be fit to take to the field against Crystal Palace this weekend.
The 26-year old Chile international was expected to be out for the early part of the campaign after being given extended leave due to his international commitments at the recently concluded COPA America where he helped his country lift the trophy on home soil.
Arsenal found themselves starring defeat in the eye in the league opener against east London club West ham United and had to call on their star man to salvage them from a looming defeat. Despite coming on, it was heavily apparent that the Chilean was clearly lacking match fitness and sharpness. He laboured throughout his time on the pitch as Arsenal were defeated.
With manager, Arsene Wenger quoted saying ” Alexis Sanchez is fit, he’s been working hard and is ready for the weekend”. This does not bode well for the long term fitness of the forward having endured a gruelling COPA America campaign. The Chilean should be afforded a break to recharge his batteries due to a lack of holiday over the summer so he can come back refreshed and raring to go.
Sanchez who operates best as an inside forward joined the Gunners from Barcelona in a Ā£35 million deal after seeing his playing time at the Camp Nou greatly reduced. He has gone on be a fan favourite at the Emirate Stadium banging in goals and putting in very impressive perfomances. He led the clubs Premier League scoring chart in his debut season with 16 goals as Arsenal improved from their fourth place finish to third and also inspiring the club as they retained the FA Cup title after triumphing against Aston Villa in the final.
