Almost Done – Arsenal On The VERGE Of Signing 25 Goals 10 Assists Attacker

Something is afoot at Arsenal. Or, in the words of Liverpool owner John Henry:

“What do you think they are smoking over at the Emirates?”

From perennially signing talented youngsters with unfulfilled potential for years, Arsenal have splashed the cash in the last two summers, and are set to do so again. It helps when you can buy players of the ilk of Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez with that cash. They were fully fledged superstars who were bought from the two biggest clubs in football in Real Madrid and Barcelona and were ready to take the mantle of leaders at the Gunners.

The effect they have had on the club is there for all to see. From perennial under achievers , Arsenal have gone on to win consecutive FA Cups and progressed to third in the league.

It seems Wenger is ready to add another star name this summer in the form of Borussia Dortmund star striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, after reports emerged that Arsenal have entered negotiations with the German club over a deal for the 26 year old Gabon International , and are ready to pay £28.4 million for his services.

Even though Dortmund struggled for the majority of the last season, Aubameyang had a breakout season, impressing with his performances and registering 16 goals and 6 assists in the league.Possessed with devastating speed, the highly rated striker is capable of playing both as a central striker and on either flank.

Many believe next season might be the last chance Wenger has for a credible tilt at the Premier league title. There is also a lack of a genuine world class striker in the Arsenal ranks. Olivier Giroud is a capable striker but is not of the ilk of the Costas and the Agueros. Danny Welbeck was signed last season but has failed to dislodge Giroud as a starter. There is a genuine feeling among Gunners that their club is only a world class striker away from the Premier League title. That is why Arsenal’s interest in the Gabon international is noteworthy.

A wide exodus of stars is expected from Dortmund this summer owing to the departure of their charismatic manager Jurgen Klopp. Aubameyang is quick, skillful and a perfect fit for the Gunners’ playing system.

Talks are expected in the coming days and Arsenal fans will no doubt be waiting with bated breath for news on these developments. The prospect of Aubameyang linking up with Ozil, Cazorla and Sanchez is sure to capture the imagination of Gooners all around the world.
