Almost Done – Arsenal Opens Talks To Sign £80,000-A-Week

Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere have been told to “wait” as per his contract talks, as the North London club are not willing to hold talks with him for now as he still has 3 years left of his £80,000 a week contract at Arsenal.

Arsenal are under no pressure to sell the England international and are hugely unlikely to entertain any offers from clubs including Manchester city who are said to be readying a bid for the Englishman.

The emergence of defensive midfielder Francis Coquelin added great balance to Wenger’s lineup during the latest of Wilshere’s injury layoffs. He is now an essential component of the side alongside Santi Cazorla and Aaron Ramsey, meaning Wilshere must hit a stretch of top-quality form to hold down a first-team place.

He is a fine passer and loves to receive possession, look up and distribute. Arsenal progressed without him last season, so it’s now the 23-year-old’s job to outline himself as a key part of the north London club’s plans.
