Almost Done – Arsenal Striker Target COMPLETES MEDICAL, Will Sign Four Years Deal
Ciro Immobile is one of several strikers being linked with a move to the English Premier League, with Arsenal and Liverpool believed to be interested in signing the Dortmund forward. However, reports from various media outlet, including the Express, confirm that the Italian has completed a season-loan move to Sevilla of Spain.
The Italian moved to the Borussia Dortmund last season, but failed to make any significant impact in the Bundesliga; scoring just three goals in 24 appearances. The loan deal, which was confirmed by the former Bundesliga champions on Monday, will now see the player pitch his tent with the reigning EUROPA League champions throughout next season.
The loan move will enable the once-feared Serie A striker the opportunity to reignite his fading career. The La Liga as you already know is one of the most competitive leagues in Europe. He was the top scorer in the Italian Serie A in the 2013/2014 season before he was snapped up by Dortmund.
His performance for Dortmund last season was nothing to write home about as he could only score three goals for his club, which perhaps, explains why the former Bundesliga champions ended in the seventh position on the league table last season.
Arsenal may now have to continue their search for a striker elsewhere as they prepare to compete for the league title next season. The club needs a couple of more signings in some key areas, including the midfield, and the attack, where the onus currently falls on French striker, Olivier Giroud.
