ALMOST DONE - Chelsea Target Agrees Personal Terms With Man United

Manchester United are reportedly ready to increase the Argentine population in their squad as an agreement to sign Benfica winger Nicolas Gaitan was reached with Benfica. The winger who has been linked to Manchester United for quite some time might finally be poised to become a United player. The Argentine winger is expected to cost Manchester United about 30 million euros.

The 27 year old winger is expected to arrive at Manchester United after Di Maria’s proposed move to PSG. Ironically Nicolas Gaitan was bought by Benfica from Boca Juniors to replace Di Maria who was sold to Real Madrid as at then and was even given Di Maria’s old jersey number.

If the Argentine eventually arrives at Old Trafford, it remains to be seen if the winger will be handed the coveted number 7 jersey Di Maria is leaving behind. The 27 year old winger is a versatile player who can play behind the striker as well as either of the flanks.

The Argentine’s on the ball skills are one of his strength along with his ball distribution as he is able to cross from either flank. Nicolas Gaitan’s passing range and vision ensures he pick holes when cutting inside. Gaitan might be a downgrade from his predecessor Di Maria but in terms of contribution to the team the 27 year old might be a key player for Manchester United as they compete in Europe and at home next season.
