ALMOST DONE – Manchester United Set To COMPLETE Transfer Of Brazilian
There may be light at the end of the tunnel for out of favour Manchester United right back Rafael, as Galatasaray have increased their efforts to sign the Brazilian full back. The 24 year old suffered a torrid and injury plagued season last year featuring only 11 times throughout the whole season which resulted in Louis Van Gaal using winger Antonio Valencia as a make-shift right back.
After being left out of the pre-season squad to tour U.S.A it was reported that the Brazilian is not included in Louis Van Gaal plans for the future due to his frequent injury problems With the recent signing of right back Matteo Darmian and Antonio Valencia set to continue his role as a right-back for the club the 24 year old will definitely have a hard time breaking into the team and will be better off playing for another team. Rafael’s agent has revealed his client desire to play for Galatasaray which means that a transfer might be imminent in the coming days.
He said “Rafael wants to play at Galatasaray. It would be great if he plays in a Galatasaray jersey this season,”.
Rafael has been a Manchester United player since 2008 when he signed with his twin brother Fabio who now plays for Cardiff City. Sir Alex Ferguson once described Rafael as an ‘excellent footballer’ and was always full of praise for the Brazillian full-back but injury has hampered his improvement over the years. However it remains to be seen where the Brazillian might end up or whether Louis Van Gaal will offer him a last chance to prove himself in the team.
