Another Belgian striker to Liverpool? Benteke to convince star to sign £30m contract

Liverpool rebuilding is already on course with Jurgen Klopp looking for impressive transfers in the summer. Michy Batshuayi is the latest inclusion in Klopp’s wish list this summer.

The Belgian international is considered to be a suitable replacement for Christian Benteke, who has failed to prove his worth since he was transferred from Aston Villa for £32.5m.

Michy Batshuayi Tunga currently plays for Olympique de Marseille as a striker. He has scored 24 goals this season in 52 games for both club and country. Marseille has already placed him on the transfer list, and this has sparked interest in the striker from several European clubs.

With only 22 years, he has a lot of time to make his career in football, and that is why Juventus, Tottenham, and West Ham are also targeting the striker, who is rated £30m. However, Liverpool expects to beat them in signing the striker as it plans to bolster its attack.

Klopp is also a great fan of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, one of the players he brought at Borussia Dortmund when he was in charge. Liverpool’s latest encounter with BVB recently reminded Klopp of what he may be missing by not signing him when he scored for the 38th time this season for the German side.

Klopp, however, admits that the player is too expensive for Liverpool, with his release clause currently at £75m. Michy Batshuayi is thus a cheaper alternative.

Christian Benteke, having openly expressed regret for signing for the Reds is expected to make way for the Belgian, with Atletico Madrid and West Ham expressing interest in his services.
