Antoine Griezmann To Finally Join Chelsea? Read The Latest Development

Chelsea’s plans of adding better quality to their attack by the next transfer window seemed to have suffered a huge blow, as the club has been warned to stay off one of their winter transfer targets, signaling what could be a close of chapter by the London club for the highly rated forward. Atletico Madrid’s Antoine Griezmann has been on Chelsea’s radar since the last summer transfer window, and despite failing to land the France international, the Blues continued plans to get him by January once the winter transfer window opens.

Atletico Madrid President, Enrique Cerezo, has however recently declared that the player won’t be available for the transfer market for the foreseeable future as Atletico remain keen to hold on to one of their most-prized assets. The former Real Sociedad winger arrived at the Vicente Calderon at the beginning of last season, but has seen his influence grown after helping the club finish 3rd place and earn an European qualifying spot with his goals. The 24 year-old was 3rd highest goal scorer in the La Liga last season and has also started reproducing the same form in this season with 5 goals already.

Chelsea’s front line has continue to come under scrutiny following their poor outing in the League, and Mourinho is waiting for the January market to open in order to get a major haul done as regards the attack. There are rumors that Chelsea won’t hesitate to discard Diego Costa, Radamel Falcao and Loic Remy, who have 3 League goals in between them if they fail to improve their goal rates by winter, with Mourinho having already identified Griezmann as one of the replacements. He will now have to strike his name out of his to-get list with the Madrid club unwillingly to trade.
