Antoine Griezmann Told Close Friends He Favours Move to England, Striker Becomes Top Replacement for Eden Hazard
Antoine Griezmann has been on Chelsea’s radar for a long time, and it is expected that the Blues will make an effort to lure the Frenchman to Stamford Bridge during the summer transfer window.
The 24-year-old had recently admitted his interest in playing in the Premier League, therefore there is a chance he might be moving to London after season’s end.
Chelsea and Atletico Madrid have been involved in transfer business in the past, with the Blues buying the likes of Diego Costa from the Spanish club. However, Blues might experience a hiccup in the deal if a transfer ban is inflicted on Atletico.
The ban would mean Atletico wouldn’t be able to buy any player from the summer transfer window, hence it is important that their appeal is accepted. Should Griezmann choose to leave for the Premier League, Atletico will be able to buy a replacement which the ban wouldn’t allow.

Griezmann has scored 34 goals in La Liga since the beginning of last season and only Lionel Messi has scored more, 37. The French international is therefore a wanted man at Chelsea and it is believed that his style would aid Costa’s scoring ability.

Though Griezmann has expressed his desire for being a part of the Premier League he hasn’t hinted on any particular club. Therefore, it wouldn’t be surprising if clubs such as Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City enter the race to attain his services.
