Arsenal already reached an agreement with this rising star claims close source, Man Utd and Liverpool to lose out
Paris Saint Germain’s midfielder Lucas Moura, has caught attention from English clubs such as Liverpool, Manchester United and Arsenal. The London club however is reported to be ahead in the race as Wenger decides to strengthen the squad as Arsenal aim to break its Premier League title drought of 11 years.
Moura has expressed his desire to stay at the French club, but insists that his decision to stay can change. Speaking to Brazilian channel SporTV, he said, “First, I’m kind of happy with the interest of big clubs, it is true that there is interest. This shows that people trust me, are watching and want to rely on my football. But my thinking is at Paris Saint-Germain. I never thought of leaving here.”
The 23 year old is under contract at PSG which ties him to the club until 2019, but because of missing out on being the first-team choice under Laurent Blanc, Moura might turn his attention to the Premier League. ‘I want to win my place here, complete my story here. Win trophies and achieve my objectives here,’ he added. ‘But of course in football you never know tomorrow. Today I’m here, but do not know if tomorrow will continue to have confidence in my football. Of course the Premier League is the strongest.”
Arsenal Wenger is reported to be willing to make £21.8m next summer. As the Brazilian international looks in no hurry to leave PSG, waiting for the next transfer window might not be a bad idea.
For now, Moura looks keen on gaining Blanc’s confidence and earn his place in team. Speaking about being on the bench, he said, “I do not complain, but no one likes to be on the bench. Every player wants to play and to start. Even more so in the Champions League games. But we know that competition here is great, you only have great players”
“This forces you to work much harder in practice and games. I always try to take advantage of opportunities, even a few minutes to show that I’m ready. I leave it to the coach to decide who will play.”
