Arsenal and Spurs compete for talented Belgian striker

Premier League rivals Arsenal and Tottenham are involved in a two-way battle for Marseille striker Michy Batshuayi, according to Sportsmail. According to the report, Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino will be in the market to buy a back-up striker for Harry Kane, and he has identified Batshuayi as his number one target for the January transfer window.

Spurs’ scouts were present in Marseille’s 1-0 win over Rennes, and the consensus is that the North London club will lodge an early £15million bid for the player.

The only thing standing in the way of Spurs will be Arsenal’s interest in the player. Gunners’ scout Gilles Grimandi was also present in the game against Rennes, and it looks it will be a two-horse race for the signature of the Belgian.
