Benzema to Go To Arsenal in Winter

Arsenal BOOSTED In Chase For £35m Rated UCL Winner, January Deal Very Likely

Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema – who is an Arsenal target – is poised to leave the Santiago Bernabeu with a move to the English Premier League looming, as claimed by Spanish news outlet Fichajes [per the Metro].

Benzema has been a long-term target for North London club Arsenal and the Gunners chased him again this past summer, with several reports that Arsene Wenger’s side had lodged an offer for the French striker’s services.

However, the former Lyon ace opted to remain at the Spanish capital and posted a message on his official Twitter page of his commitment to Real Madrid.

Now, the aforementioned source claim Benzema is set to leave the La Liga in the coming months following news he has been charged in a blackmail plot against Lyon star Mathieu Valbuena.

It is understood that Real feel Benzema has tarnished the image of the club with a series of incidents, including the one including Valbuena, and a move to England is now on the cards.

Benzema joined Los Blancos in the summer of 2009 and has made over 190 league appearances for the Spanish giants, scoring 93 goals in the process.

Arsenal could revive their interest in the striker and his reported £35m valuation should pose no problem for the Gunners, considering they rarely loosened their purse strings in the summer.

Benzema did not feature for Real in their 3-2 defeat to Sevilla on Sunday and the striker, together with Valbuena, has been left out of the France squad for friendlies against England and Germany later this month.
