Arsenal close to reaching deal for Serie A sensation as agent confirms deal imminent

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger was largely criticized in the summer for being the only manager who did not sign an outfield player except former Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech. Arsenal may be suffering for this at the moment as they have several players out injured and one of them being defensive midfielder Francis Coquelin and this will definitely hurt the team if care is not taken.

The French manager may however have found a solution to this missing key as he has reportedly been sending scouts to Italy to monitor the progress of Napoli defensive midfielder Jorginho as his agent Joao Santos believes his client might soon be leaving Napoli.

The 23-year-old DM has been an integral part of the Napoli side all season and they currently lie second place on the Serie A table behind league leaders Inter Milan with a game in hand. The player’s agent said,Ā “I do not know if Arsenal scouts were in Genoa for Jorginho, but Iā€™m not surprised that the player, especially in light of the change of coach, is doing very well and has important clubs interested in him. One of the Arsenal head scouts is well-known so I know that he was at the ground during the game.”

It remains to be seen if the player will be released by his club and if the player himself is willing to leave Napoli for the Emirates but he will definitely be a good addition to the squad if he decides to come in to the club.
