Arsenal EDGING Closer To Signing Karim Benzema

Arsenal’s pursuit of a world class striker has seen them linked to a plethora of strikers with Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema and Napoli contract rebel Gonzalo Higuain the most prominent names linked.

After the protracted saga that involved Theo Walcott agreeing terms on the extension of his contract with the club over. It seemed as if Arsene Wenger would settle for Olivier Giroud, Alexis Sanchez, Danny Welbeck and Theo Walcott as his strikers for the upcoming season but news emerging from Italian football journalist, Emanuele Giulianelli has it that the club is still in the market for a striker. He reportedly claimed that France international striker, Karim Benzema is set to agree terms on a four-year contract with the Gunners. This news would no doubt be music to the ears of Arsenal fans.

Current boss, Arsene Wenger has been a long term admirer of the 27-year old striker who has amassed a total of 133 goals in 281 appearances for Los Blancos since signing from French side, Olympique Lyon in 2007.

Arsenal’s pursuit of the striker’s signature has seen them launch two bids that were duly rejected in the past but with Giulianelli even going as far as reporting that personal terms have been agreed with Arsenal at £120,000 per week on a £40 million deal on twitter.

“Benzema will join Arsenal. 4 years contract at €9 million per year”

Arsenal are no strangers to last minute deals with Mesut Ozil and Danny Welbeck recent examples. Arsenal fans will have to keep their fingers crossed and wait.
