Arsenal eyeing £25m midfielder who may become 1st summer signing as Arteta, Rosicky and Flamini will leave

Arsenal have been on a title hunt since the ‘90s, and this year was the closest they’ve gotten. It’s no surprise they are aiming to revamp their midfield, as veterans Mathieu Flamini, Tomas Rosicky and Mikel Arteta a set to leave at the end of the season. The Gunners are looking at one of the new Barclays Premier League Champions’ central midfielders: N’Golo Kante.

Arsenal and Leicester City have reportedly held talks for the French midfielder, which would involved a £25m transfer fee. The Gunners desperately need to add youth to their midfield and Kante is a perfect fit.

The 25-year-old Kante is said to be Wegner’s top priority signing this summer as he was a key part of The Foxes’ shocking title run this year.

Leicester City signed N’Golo Kante from SM Caen last summer to a four year contract for £5.6 million. He proved to be a superb addition, making 35 appearances this season for The Foxes and becoming a pivotal part of their midfield. The Frenchman has established himself as one of the best central midfielders in Europe, making his senior international debut with the French side this year.

Kante would be a great fit for Arsenal, who faced serious injury problems this season (especially with their midfielders). Kante is a sturdy player as his 35 appearances are almost three times the number of Mikel Arteta this season.
