After 12 years without a Premier League trophy, Arsenal fans are understandably frustrated at the lack of consistency as they have been magical at the start of most seasons and then capitulated when it came down to grinding out results.
Even after spending big on players like Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez, Arsenal still look a little off the pace. Arsenal fans are looking for Wenger to make some new signings this year, with world class defenders over the continent being touted as possible transfer targets, but is it time for a clear out amongst the Arsenal ranks?
Could they free up some of the wage budget by offloading some players that haven’t quite put the required effort in? Santi Cazorla has been at Arsenal for a few seasons now and has fallen behind Ozil and Sanchez in the pecking order. This last season has been plagued with injuries but the Spanish star does remain a fan favourite.
Villarreal are said to be interested in the playmaker, who played 181 league games for them before moving on. Cazorla moved to Malaga and then on to Arsenal for £10million back in 2012.
He made a storming start to his career at the Emirates but suffered a series of injuries that have seen his game-time limited. Should Arsenal cash in on the player? Does he still have enough about him to deserve a place in the team?
