Arsenal finalizing 1st summer signing, superstar to earn £120,000-a-week

With another season drawing to a close, the transfer rumors are going into overdrive. With so many teams underperforming this season, highlighted by the fact the title is being fought over by Leicester City and Tottenham Hotspur, many clubs are expected to make big moves over the summer.

One of those clubs looking to strengthen for next season is Arsenal, who started strongly and looked unbeatable at one point until they fade away as they have done a few times before. Amongst the many players on their radar is Swiss international, Granit Xhaka, who currently turns out for Borussia Monchengladbach in Germany.

Arsenal are prepared to offer Xhaka a bumper pay packet to bring him to London when the transfer window opens. Much depends on the European Championship this summer where Xhaka will be representing Switzerland and hoping to take them as far as they can go. If he has a cracking tournament then a host of European clubs might muscle in on the bid and try to lure him away Arsene Wenger.

Liverpool are also extremely interested in signing the exciting midfielder with Jurgen Klopp having admitted to being an admirer of his style of play.

The Sun believe that Arsenal are already one step ahead of the pack in the race to sign Xhaka, with Wenger already meeting with Xhaka’s agent and agreeing the details around the potential £33.7million move. Arsenal have tried to lure Xhaka to the Premier League before but the move broke down during the January transfer window.
