Arsenal Hijack Barcelona Target, Wenger to Finally Sign a World Class Striker
Arsenal are reportedly ready to open talk with Celta Vigo to sign Nolito on the breakdown of the player’s proposed move to Barcelona.
The north London club were apparently in talks to secure the services of the Spain striker earlier in this (January) transfer window, but Barcelona were in for Nolito by then. According to reports, Barcelona’s interest in Nolito has collapsed, and Arsenal are willing to take advantage.
Nolito, who enjoyed a goal-laden start of the season, is once again on the market and Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is on green alert.
Arsenal have only managed to sign Mohammed Elneny – a midfielder – from Basel, and are now ready to sign a striker to bolster their attacking department.
Wenger has reportedly received positive reports about the Spain strike and he could be ready to open talks for a front man this month.
Besides, Arsenal are likely to battle it out with Liverpool, who have also shown interest in signing Nolito amid fears that the complex deal for Teixeira may fall through. Nolito has a £12.6 million release clause in his contract.
