Arsenal in talks with London club to sign 22 goals in 40 matches deadly striker

Reports coming through from Portugal indicate that Arsenal is open to signing Kostas Mitroglou. The Benfica forward should he be available in the summer. Arsenal Manager, Arsene Wenger, is keen to continue in his efforts to strengthen his squad this summer following a season in which no silverware might be coming Arsenal’s way.

While Arsene Wenger has a number of forwards in the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Danny Wellbeck , Oliver Giroud, and Theo Walcott to select and rotate in his Arsenal squad, the Frenchman is open to adding on his options given the fact that some of the forwards have been sidelined for long spells this season with injuries limiting his selection pool.

Talks of Arsenal interest in Kostas Mitroglou cannot therefore just be wished away but deserve our keen attention. Kostas Mitroglou who is currently on loan with the Portuguese club Benfica following his not so successful stay at Fulham already has quite an impressive goal scoring record having managed to score 22 goals in just 40 appearances for Benfica.

It is possibly this record that has compelled Arsenal into holding talks with both Fulham and Mitroglou’s representatives over a potential 5.5 million pounds offer for the Greece international- Kostas Mitroglou.

Just where Mitroglou will end at-possibly at Benfica or Arsenal-depends first, on whether current club Benfica who have Mitroglou on loan-will convince the Greece International forward to stay and sign a deal with them.
Kostas Mitroglou’s personal preference is said to be with on loan club Benfica but could be a sweet offer from Arsene Wenger’s side-Arsenal could convince the Greece international into joining the London and English premier league club-Arsenal.
