Arsenal Injury Curse Strikes Again? Sanchez Injury Latest
Much to the relief of the Arsenal coaches and players, the North London club have received a morale booster on the injury front, with the Express reporting that Alexis Sanchez is not injured as first feared when the Chilean came off against Manchester United on Sunday.
Alexis, 26, displayed his incredible brilliance when the Red Devils visited the Emirates last weekend and Louis van Gaal’s men were on the receiving end of a trouncing at the hands of Sanchez-inspired Arsenal side, with the influential winger scoring twice in the 3-0 victory for the Gunners.
But the former Barcelona whiz failed to finish the game as he was substituted in the 80th minute of the encounter to what first seemed like an injury, as claimed by boss Arsene Wenger who said: “He has a little groin problem.” [via the Daily Telegraph].
However, Chilean broadsheet La Tercera have claimed that the Chile national team contacted Arsenal following the news on their star player’s injury concern.
And the update from the Gunners’ camp is that Alexis is fit to go for international duty and that his groin problem is now a thing of the past.
Chile tackle Brazil and Peru over the next weeks and Alexis will be hoping to represent his country who are coming in on the back of winning the Copa America tournament during the summer.
