Arsenal Injury News – Another Star Ruled Out With Injury

Arsenal are fast overtaking Manchester United on the list of injury prone clubs this season. The North London outfit have only won 2 of their opening seven games this term and as such, they will be very keen to secure a win against Hull City this weekend. However the London Evening standard reports on good authority that the Gunners will have to make do without the services of 5 of their first team members which include David Ospina, Mikel Arteta, Aaron Ramsey, Theo Walcott and Serge Gnabry.

According to the Standard, David Ospina who arrived at the Emirates this summer has been ruled out with an injury sustained to his thigh. Emiliano Martinez will be introduced in the interim to bridge the gap. A silver lining in the seemingly dark clouds for Arsenal is that although the duo of Aaron Ramsey and Mikel Arteta will not be available this weekend, they are expected back within the fold in time for next weekā€™s Champions League fixture when the North London giants host Dutch outfit Anderlecht.

Even with all the injury concerns, the Gunners have completed 87% of their passes this season, which indicates a squad with a good level of cohesion and with the good news coming from the return of midfielder Thomas Rosicky, the Arsene Wenger tutored side may just be able to spin it this weekend. More so, the Gunners seem to be able to get their way through Hull having emerged victorious in the last five clashes against them, however with their current downward swing in form coupled with the comprehensive 2-0 defeat to London rivals Chelsea, the Tigers might be able to pile up the Wengerā€™s woes. Similarly, the Gunners havenā€™t been too reliable at the back having only managed a single Premier League clean sheet all season long which was the 3-0 win they secured at Aston Villa.

The Tiger also have issues in the defence although they appear quite ferocious on the attack. Nicica Jelavic has managed 4 goals in 7 matches this term and when paired with Abel Hernandez, the Gunner defence might have quite a handful on their hands. In their last 5 matches, Hull city have scored just 2 goals and they have only managed a single win in their last 12 games against a London club and that win came earlier this season. The main issue with the Tigers is that they havenā€™t been able to maintain a versatile offensive play while still being solid at the back and this has seen them lose more points than they should actually have.

Arsenal has a fiery striker in Danny Welbeck and with the squadā€™s cohesion, they will likely prevail over the Tigers but then Hull City will not be a push over.
