Arsenal News Round Up – Abdennour, Cavani, Benzema & Rabiot

The Gunners have not been as active as expected in the transfer market following their obvious need of strengthening in the defensive midfield and centre forward positions of the pitch. So far this summer, Petr Cech remains the only player signed by Wenger with a handful of the younger and inexperience players sent on loan for their development.

In their Premier League match against Liverpool yesterday, the Gunner were impressive but were labelled as average as they failed to find the back of the net at the Emirates.

We take a look at Arsenal transfer news hitherto:

Aymen Abdennour

The 26-year-old defender has been open about his intention of wanting to leave Monaco following his lack of playing time at his French club. Earlier in this month, the player agent Abdelkader Jilani confirmed that his client will leave France this summer

There are no problems with [manager Leandro] Jardim or the club,” Jilani said on the first week of August.

“But the truth is that Abdennour wants to leave.

“He wants a new adventure, and there are opportunities in Spain, Italy and England.”

The player has been linked to Arsenal but it is understood that he will favour a move to Italy.

Karim Benzema

The possibility of a move for the player to London was dispelled by himself when he took to his official twitter handle and said all the news linking him with a move are false and he pledge a commitment to the Los Blancos. Arsenals have had up to three bids rejected by Madrid for the player. Karim Benzema is the only natural centre forward currently in Madrid.

Edison Cavani

The player has been open about his frustration on the pitch stemming from being played on the flanks as Zlatan is favoured as the number 9 man. Cavani is reportedly looking for a way out of France to realise his centre forward dream and the Gunners can lure him to London to help him realise that dream. It is understood that PSG will accept an offer of £35m for the player following the acquisition of Angel Di Maria from Unted.

Adrien Rabiot

The 20-year-old midfielder has been on the Gunners radar since last season. PSG has tagged the player with £25m. He can give competition to Francis Coquelin.
