Arsenal News: Six clubs interested in Hector Bellerin, Gunners offer £120,000-a-week to Granit Xhaka

Arsenal right-back Hector Bellerin has come quite a way since debuting for the North London club last season. The Spaniard has attracted attentions of all the major European clubs with his performances during the past two seasons and the latest reports suggest that as many as six clubs are interested in his services.

Spanish publication Don Balon claims that future Bayern Munich manager Carlo Ancelotti is greatly impressed by the 21-year old and has asked the Bundesliga club to attempt and sign the youngster in the summer. The report states that Bayern are currently leading the race to sign Bellerin.

Bellerin’s former club Barcelona are also said to be interested in the player. The Catalan club are preparing for the eventual departure of Dani Alves, who is set to move to China, and have earmarked Bellerin as potential replacement.

Premier League trio of Man Utd, Chelsea and Man City and Ligue 1 champions PSG are also said to be interested in the player. However, Bellerin, who moved to Arsenal from Barcelona when he was 16, has insisted that he is happy at the North London club and wants to stay there for foreseeable future.

He told Goal.com: “I left Barca without looking back. I left focused on London and Arsenal and I am really happy there. I signed a new deal last year and there’s still a lot in front of me. It’s a club that’s forming a great team, with players like Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil.

“My future is there and I am happy where I am. A lot of things can happen in football, but I am at Arsenal, giving my all for the club. I am not thinking of going anywhere else.

“After last season and having started to play with the first team at Arsenal, my objective this year was to play as much as possible. And I have to give my thanks to the manager because he’s given me a lot of minutes, allowing me to complete my objective.

“It’s true that on a club level things aren’t going as we wanted and that’s complicated things, but personally I am really happy with how things are going. I’m completing my objectives and now I have to aspire to more and want more – that’s how things progress.”

In another Arsenal-related news, the Gunners have now raced ahead of Liverpool in the pursuit of Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Granit Xhaka.

Both Premier League clubs have held a long-term interest in the Swiss International, but according to the latest report from the Sun, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has recently held talks with Xhaka’s father Ragip regarding a potential move.

The North London club are willing to offer £120,000-a-week wages to the 23-year old to lure him to Emirates Stadium. He is valued at £33.7m by his club and Arsenal are willing to pay the amount ahead of a summer mover.
