Arsenal On The VERGE Of Signing £100k-A-Week Chelsea Target On Four Years Contract

Theo Walcott’s Arsenal future has been in doubt as negotiations for a new deal have taken too long to be completed. Recent news out of the Emirates have it that the English winger is close to agreeing terms on a new deal and this has been confirmed by Arsene Wenger.

Arsene Wenger had this to say when asked about the state of things regarding the future of the striker. ” Not yet but we’re getting closer and closer. Hopefully we can finalise it very soon”.

Walcott has been angling for a more central role in attack as he feels that playing out wide limits his productivity. He had been vocal about his discontent and this led to a break down in his relationship with the manager. But recent events have shown that both player and coach have dropped the hatchet and comments from the manager give credence to that.

” It was another goal for Theo and I’m not surprised by that because I played him through the middle”.

” I’ve always said that he’s a goalscorer because he has the movement, he has the timing of the run, the speed for the finishing and he has an eye for taking his chances at the right moments “. “When he gets into these positions, he finishes well. Yesterday he nearly scored when he came on as a substitute, today he scored. I believe that Theo will score goals”.

With positive comments like these, Walcott appears to have a longer future at the Emirates stadium as he is currently the longest serving player in the squad. Walcott was linked with a move to Chelsea as part of the deal that ensured Arsenal signed Petr Cech from the west Londoners.
