Arsenal Plan MASSIVE January Bid For WORLD CLASS Italian

The Gunners were heavily criticized for their inactivity in the just-closed transfer market, but it seems a lot is going on to secure the future of the club as reports in Italy are claiming the Arsenal sent scout to watch Juventus defender Daniele Rugani  when he featured for Italy under-21, as per TottoMercatoWeb via Football Italia.

The defender was impressive for Empoli last season when on loan, he helped them stayed up in Seria A. He featured for Italy under-21 on Tuesday night as they defeated Slovenia.

According to reports, Rugani was approached by the Gunners in the summer. The Emirates landlords only signed one player in the summer and they wanted to bolster their squad with the service of the tenacious defender.

Rugani is the only player to play every minute in the Seria last season without being booked. However, a move to the Emirates will see him compete for a place with Koscielny, Paulista and Mertesacker.

The most and obvious need in the summer was a defensive midfielder and Proven centre forward but January may be the period for Wenger to make those signings.

Despite the Old Lady disappointing start to this season, Rugani has been called back to the squad and will face competition for places with the highly experienced defensive line of the Turin giants.
