Arsenal Set To Beat Liverpool To Signing Of POWERFUL DM

Premier League clubs Arsenal and Liverpool are set to go head to head for PSG midfielder Thiago Motta after his proposed deal with Atletico Madrid hit a brick wall. Reports from Spain indicate that the deal for the transfer of Thiago Motta to Atletico Madrid is on the verge of collapsing which would alert both Liverpool and Arsenal who have been keeping a keen eye of the cultured Italian midfielder.

The 32 year old is reportedly eager for a fresh challenge having been at PSG since January 2012 winning several trophies except the Champions League at the club. Thiago Motta has expressed his desire to leave the French club and is believed to be pushing for a move away from Paris but PSG are holding firmly onto to Italian who currently has one more year left in his contract.

With Liverpool still yet to replace Steven Gerrard in the team and the possible departure of Brazilian Lucas Leiva in the summer, Brendan Rodgers is eager to add a quality midfielder into the team. The 32 year old’s experience can complement the youthful midfield of Liverpool and turn their midfield into a powerhouse.

While Arsene Wenger has been in the market for a defensive midfielder to act as an alternative to the likes of Rosicky , Arteta and Flamini while also being a mentor to the young Coquelin. Thiago Motta’s wealth of experience and technical ability could turn the Gunners into real title contenders this season.
