Arsenal Set To Sign Another Chelsea Star – Not Petr Cech

Arsenal are set to be defeated in the race to sign Chelsea’s youngster, Charly Musonda Jr, with Marseille, according to reports in Belgium, being said to be his next destination. TalkSPORT revealed earlier on Tuesday that Arsenal are set to raid Chelsea again after their ‘almost done deal’ for The Blues’ goalkeeper, Petr Cech. According to Sport Witness, Jose Mourinho will be stung by the possibility of Petr Cech going to Arsenal and won’t risk seeing his young prospect excel at Arsenal instead of his own club.

The news will, however, hit Arsenal like a blow, as they have been rest assured of acquiring the player’s service. But now, Marseille will be looking to wrap up the deal as soon as possible when the transfer window opens next month. Charly Musonda Jr., son of former Zambian footballer, Charly Musonda, won the UEFA Champions League with the U-19 team last season.

A host of other clubs like AS Roma and Valencia are also keen but it seems the French club, Marseille will go all the way to secure the deal for the 18-year-old Belgian. Musonda Jr., the former RSC Anderlecht player, can play as an attacking midfielder, a left winger and a right winger. He is equally good with both feet.

Some months ago,  reports claim that AS Monaco of France wanted the youngster on loan, and later wanted him included in a deal which would see their Colombian striker move to The Bridge. Chelsea’s manager, Jose Mourinho rejected the approach. So despite the interest of Arsenal, Roma and Valencia, Marseille is the place Charly Musonda Jr. may likely be plying his trade come next season.
