Despite the signing of a new deal by Arsenal defender, Hector Bellerin- which put ‘paid’ to all transfer speculations- reports state that Coach Arsene Wenger is however still looking to add more defensive talent to his squad; and has allegedly picked out Italy and AS Roma defender, Alessio Romagnoli.
The 20 year-old defender is one of Europe’s brightest defence prospects of his age-group. Strong, tall and solid, the player caught the eyes of many – Arsene Wenger inclusive- while on loan at Sampdoria last term, which prompted Arsenal to make inquiries ito his availability.
According to reports, talks for the player’s transfer are already ongoing; as AS Roma’s Director of Sports has allegedly been frequently shuttling in and out of England in recent times, in order to meet with the Gunners hierarchy and discuss terms and conditions necessary for a smooth transfer of the player.
Arsenal, surely are not the only club to have noticed his immense talent. Sampdoria- with which the player spent a season on loan last term- are equally keen to land the player on a permanent basis, and have reportedly had multiple bids rejected already.
