The 2015/2016 EPL season promises to the most exciting ever. The familiar top-table teams have all been relatively impressive all through pre-season; and Sunday’s community shield encounter involving League Champions Chelsea and FA Cup winners Arsenal- which saw Arsene Wenger break his personal jinx with Mourinho- showed explicitly that ahead of the season, even the Champions aren’t safe and would most likely not have an easy ride.
Amongst the mid-table teams, Liverpool are already sending out strong indications of their title-intentions ahead of time. Buoyed by the sale of star winger Raheem Sterling, the Anfield club have gone on to recruit Aston Villa and Belgium goal-machine, Christian Benteke, as well as five other players, all remarkably good. Still, coach Brendan Rodgers appears yet unsatisfied, as reports indicate that the Reds are closing in on a move for Barcelona starlet, Adama Traore, and are keen to make him their seventh signing of the transfer window as soon as possible.
Traore, who plies his trade on the wings for Barcelona’s ‘B’ team, was once tipped to break into the Barca first team; but the arrivals of red-hot Luis Suarez and Neymar however appear to have limited his potential.
At the moment, after preliminary talks between Barca and Liverpool have reportedly been concluded, the 19 year-old winger is now expected to fly to Anfield for a medical.
