Arsenal To Complete Signing Of £165,000-A-Week World Class Striker – Not Benzema
Few days to the end of the transfer market but Arsenal seem to have unfinished business to do as they have shifted their attention to the Champions of France for the signature of their prolific finisher, PSG’s Edison Cavani. This is as per the Metro.
From the inception of this season, karim Benzema has not stopped being in the transfer news of Arsenal as he has been dubbed the major target of Arsene Wenger but the Los Blancos are unwillingly to give up their only natural centre forward.
Reports emanating from Spain suggest that the Gunners are considering making a move for the beasty 27-year-old Uruguayan international as the best alternative to Benzema.
Last season, the 27-year-old attacker was at his best ever for club as he scored two more goals better than his penultimate season. He scored 18 Ligue 1 goals and helped PSG claimed all the available titles in France. Although, the Champions League evaded the Ligue 1 champions last season.
Cavani has been open about his frustration on the pitch stemming from being played on the flanks as Zlatan is favoured as the number 9 man. Cavani is reportedly looking for a way out of France to realise his centre forward dream and the Gunners may just take advantage of his situation to lure him to their fortress.
Arsene Wenger has been a long term admirer of Cavani from his days at Napoli, he once described him as a beast that isn’t wasteful in front of goal.
All said, PSG are yet to receive an offer for the player but the close of the transfer market doles out it surprises.
