Arsenal To FINALLY Complete Striker Transfer As Club Director Arrives London
The Costa Rican world cup star Joel Campbell may just be bidding farewell to the Emirates following reports which claims that Seria A side Palermo are edging closer to securing the signature of the 23-year-old.
This report is according to Sky Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio who claims that Palermo’s president Maurizio Zamparini is currently in London to complete a deal for the forward.
Campbell joined Arsenal in 2011 from Saprissa but was loaned out to several clubs due to work permit. However, he returned to the Emirates last season following his impressive performance for country during the last world cup and it was thought that he would get playing time alas, Campbell failed to replicate his world cup form for the Gunners.
Despites being loaned out to get playing time and improved performance; Campbell has failed to step up his game. Last season, while on loan with Villareal, he managed to put just one goal behind the net throughout his stay for the Spanish outfit.
With likes of Walcott and Welbeck still playing second fiddle to Giroud at Arsenal, there almost no room for Campbell and a move will be best for the starlet.
Arsenal have been heavily linked with some prolific centre forwards putting Campbell’s future in doubt.
